Should I choose an Abarth 595 manual or MTA?

The five-speed manual is cheaper to maintain and more engaging. The MTA shifts on its own or with paddles but is slow in automatic mode, and its electro-hydraulic actuator can be costly to repair.

Can you get an Abarth 595C cabrio with a manual gearbox?

Yes, the 595C offers the same choice as the hatchback: five-speed manual or MTA. Its fabric roof slides back between fixed side rails, so the car keeps its doors and pillars.

How do you check the clutch on a used Abarth 595?

On a test drive, accelerate hard in fourth or fifth: if the revs rise without the car speeding up, the clutch is slipping. Track days, hard launches and remaps all shorten its life.
