Question 1

Does a used BMW M4 pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every M4 has well over 185 kW, so it pays €20 for each kW above that threshold on top of the bollo. The surcharge drops to 60% five years after construction, 30% after ten, 15% after fifteen, and ends after twenty.

Question 2

Is the BMW 2 Series Coupé rear-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both the first 2 Series Coupé from 2014 and the second from 2021 drive the rear wheels, with xDrive on some versions. The 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Coupé are front-wheel-drive cars that only share the name.

Question 3

What should I check on a used BMW M2 or M4?

Accepted Answer

Tyres and brakes wear fast on a car driven on track, so uneven tyre wear or a clunk from the rear deserves a garage check. A full BMW service history and a standard engine matter more than the mileage.

Question 4

Is a new BMW 4 Series Coupé better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new 4 Series Coupé has the factory warranty and current petrol or diesel engines with an automatic gearbox, at BMW's list price beside the new 2 Series Coupé, M2 and M4. A used one a few years old has already taken the steepest depreciation.
