Question 1

What is the PureTech timing belt problem on the Citroën C3?

Accepted Answer

On the turbocharged 1.2 PureTech the timing belt runs in engine oil and can break up early, and its debris can block the oil pump strainer. Ask when it was replaced and whether the correct oil was used.

Question 2

Is the naturally aspirated 1.2 PureTech enough for a Citroën C3?

Accepted Answer

The 82 to 83 hp version suits town driving and the occasional motorway trip. The 110 hp turbo makes overtaking easier and is the one usually paired with the EAT6 automatic.

Question 3

Will a petrol Citroën C3 pay the bollo in 2027?

Accepted Answer

Decree-law 162 of 2026 exempts one petrol car per person of up to 80 kW from the 2027 bollo: the 68 and 82 hp C3s qualify, the 110 hp at 81 kW does not. The decree still has to be converted into law.

Question 4

Which petrol engines does the new Citroën C3 have?

Accepted Answer

The new C3 comes with the 100 hp Turbo and a manual gearbox, or the 110 hp Hybrid, a 48-volt petrol hybrid with the e-DCS6 automatic. Each trim can be compared at Citroën's list price beside the used C3s.
