Question 1

Which engine is best on a used Citroën C5 Aircross?

Accepted Answer

The 1.5 BlueHDi 130 diesel suits drivers who cover long distances, while the 1.2 PureTech 130 petrol suits mixed use but needs its timing belt, which runs in oil, changed on schedule. The plug-in hybrid only pays off if you can charge at home.

Question 2

Does the Citroën C3 Aircross have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No, every C3 Aircross is front-wheel drive. Some versions have Grip Control, which adapts the traction control to mud, snow or sand and usually comes with mud-and-snow tyres.

Question 3

What should I check on a used Citroën SUV with the 1.2 PureTech engine?

Accepted Answer

Ask when the timing belt, which runs in engine oil, was last replaced and whether the car uses oil. Citroën has offered extended cover on this belt, so a Citroën dealer can say whether the car qualifies.

Question 4

Which powertrains do the new Citroën C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross have?

Accepted Answer

The new C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross are sold with petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrains, with a manual or automatic gearbox depending on the version. Each trim can be compared at Citroën's list price beside the used SUVs.
