Question 1

Which petrol engine is best on a used Dacia?

Accepted Answer

The non-turbo 1.0 SCe and the older 1.2 16V are slow but simple and cheap to keep. For motorway driving the TCe turbos suit better: the 1.0 TCe in the Sandero, and the 1.3 TCe in the Duster, developed with Mercedes-Benz.

Question 2

Should I buy a petrol-only Dacia or a bi-fuel LPG one?

Accepted Answer

For low annual mileage a petrol-only car is simpler, with no second tank to inspect. LPG pays off over long distances, and as the bi-fuel uses the same engine its weak points are the same.

Question 3

Can a used petrol Dacia enter Milan's Area B?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the Euro class shown on the Documento Unico: the bans in Area B fall first on the oldest petrol classes. A recent Euro 6 car is the safe choice; check the city's current calendar before buying.

Question 4

How much does a new petrol Dacia cost?

Accepted Answer

New petrol Dacias, the Sandero, Duster, Jogger and Bigster, sit beside the used ones at their official list prices. Many versions are Eco-G bi-fuels that also run on LPG, with manual or automatic gearboxes, in trims such as Expression, Journey and Extreme.
