Question 1

How much superbollo does a used Ferrari pay?

Accepted Answer

Every modern Ferrari exceeds 185 kW, so it pays €20 a year for each kW above that on top of the bollo. The charge falls to 60% five years after construction, 30% after ten, 15% after fifteen and nothing after twenty.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Ferrari?

Accepted Answer

Ask for a full service record at official Ferrari dealers, and check whether the car is still within the seven-year Genuine Maintenance programme, which covers scheduled servicing and passes to the next owner. On F1-gearbox cars such as the 360 and F430, ask about clutch wear.

Question 3

Is an older Ferrari exempt from the bollo?

Accepted Answer

A Ferrari of 30 years or more that is not used professionally pays no bollo, only a small flat fee if it is driven on public roads. From 20 to 29 years, a certificato di rilevanza storica noted on the registration document halves the bollo.

Question 4

What is Ferrari Classiche certification?

Accepted Answer

It is Ferrari's own certificate that a car of 20 years or more keeps its original specification, issued after the Classiche department has inspected it. On older models such as the F355 or 550 Maranello, it reassures buyers and supports the value.
