Question 1

Fiat 500 hatchback or 500C: which to buy used?

Accepted Answer

The closed 500 is quieter, stiffer and usually costs less at the same age and mileage. The 500C's fabric roof slides back but keeps the side pillars, so check that it runs smoothly and drains properly.

Question 2

What do the Fiat 500 Pop, Lounge and Sport trims mean?

Accepted Answer

Pop is the basic trim, Lounge adds comfort equipment, often with the fixed glass roof, and Sport a sportier look with larger wheels. Special editions add their own details on top.

Question 3

How can you tell a facelifted Fiat 500?

Accepted Answer

The 2015 update brought new daytime running lights in the front bumper, rear lights with a body-coloured centre and a revised interior, with a larger touchscreen on higher trims. Engines were brought up to Euro 6.

Question 4

Is a Fiat 500 three-door practical for daily use?

Accepted Answer

For one or two people, yes: the boot is small and the rear seats suit short trips. The long doors need room to open in tight parking spaces.
