Which engine is best on a used Ford EcoSport?

The 1.0 EcoBoost three-cylinder petrol suits most drivers and is the most common. The 1.5 diesel, TDCi before the facelift and EcoBlue after it, only pays off for high-mileage drivers.

What problems does the Ford EcoSport 1.0 EcoBoost have?

Its timing belt runs in oil and wears early if the wrong oil was used or services were late, so ask for the service record. Early engines also suffered coolant leaks that can lead to overheating.

Is there a four-wheel-drive Ford EcoSport?

Yes, after the 2017 facelift the 125 hp 1.5 EcoBlue diesel was offered with all-wheel drive. Most EcoSports are front-wheel drive, so check the exact version in the advert.

How much bollo does a Ford EcoSport pay in Italy?

The bollo depends on the engine's kW and Euro class, at the rate set by your region. The 1.0 EcoBoost and 1.5 diesel have modest power, so the bollo is moderate and the superbollo never applies.
