Question 1

What is the difference between the Ford Kuga plug-in and full hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The plug-in has a larger battery charged from the mains and covers a few dozen kilometres on electricity alone; the full hybrid charges itself while driving and runs electrically only briefly. Only the full hybrid was offered with four-wheel drive.

Question 2

Was the Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid recalled?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in 2020 early plug-in Kugas were recalled because battery cells could overheat, and owners were told not to charge them until the battery was fixed. Check that the recall work is on record before buying.

Question 3

Does a used Ford Kuga hybrid pay less bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the owner's region: many charge hybrids one flat rate per kW, with no higher rate above 100 kW, and a few, such as Veneto, exempt them for some years. Check that the Documento Unico records the car as a hybrid.

Question 4

Can a Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid use fast chargers?

Accepted Answer

No, it charges only from AC, at home or at a public wallbox, which refills its battery in a few hours. On long trips it simply runs as a petrol hybrid.

Question 5

What does the new Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid offer?

Accepted Answer
