Question 1

Is the Ford Puma a full hybrid?

Accepted Answer

No, the Puma EcoBoost Hybrid is a mild hybrid: its small 48-volt battery assists the petrol engine but cannot move the car alone. It needs no plug and drives like a petrol car with smoother stop-start.

Question 2

Does the Ford Puma hybrid pay less bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

Only if the Documento Unico records it as a hybrid and the owner's region has a hybrid rule: many charge one flat rate per kW, and a few exempt hybrids for some years. Check the fuel field and your region's current rules.

Question 3

What should I check on a used Ford Puma hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The 48-volt battery and starter-generator rarely fail, but a hybrid system warning on the dashboard needs a dealer diagnosis. The 1.0 EcoBoost still has its timing belt in oil, so check the oil specification in the service record.

Question 4

Is the Ford Puma hybrid automatic?

Accepted Answer

It comes either way, with a six-speed manual or the seven-speed Powershift dual-clutch automatic. The automatic suits town traffic, while the manual is simpler to maintain.
