Question 1

What should I check on a used Ford with the 1.0 EcoBoost engine?

Accepted Answer

Its timing belt runs in oil, so the oil must meet Ford's specification and be changed on time, and the belt replaced at the scheduled interval. Early engines had cooling faults, some fixed under recalls, so ask for the history.

Question 2

What is the difference between the Ford Kuga Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid?

Accepted Answer

Both pair a 2.5 petrol engine with an electric motor and an automatic transmission. The Hybrid charges itself while driving, while the Plug-In Hybrid has a larger battery charged from the mains and goes further on electricity alone.

Question 3

Is a used Ford Fiesta still worth buying?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it remains one of the easiest small cars to service in Italy, with plentiful parts after production ended in 2023. The last generation, from 2017, is the most refined.

Question 4

How much does a new Ford cost in Italy?

Accepted Answer

New Fords can be compared version by version at Ford's official list price. The range runs from the Puma, mild hybrid or electric, and the Kuga, petrol or plug-in hybrid, to the electric Explorer, Capri and Mustang Mach-E and the Mustang V8.
