Question 1

Which generation of Hyundai Tucson should I buy used?

Accepted Answer

The fourth generation, from 2020, is the most modern and the only one with full and plug-in hybrids. A third-generation car, built from 2015 to 2020, costs less, and its 2018 facelift added the 48V diesels.

Question 2

What are the common problems on a used Hyundai Tucson?

Accepted Answer

On cars with the dual-clutch DCT, check for judder when pulling away in traffic. Diesels used only in town can clog their particulate filter, and on four-wheel drive versions listen for noises from the rear in tight turns.

Question 3

Is a used Hyundai Tucson still under warranty?

Accepted Answer

Often, since Hyundai's five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty passes to the next owner if the car was serviced on schedule. A Tucson under five years old may still carry part of it.

Question 4

How much does a new Hyundai Tucson cost?

Accepted Answer

The new Tucson is sold as a 150 hp petrol, a 136 hp 48V diesel, a 239 hp hybrid and a 288 hp plug-in, front or four-wheel drive, from Business to N Line, each at Hyundai's list price beside the used cars.
