Question 1

Which used Hyundai engines are the simplest to own?

Accepted Answer

The naturally aspirated 1.0 and 1.2 petrol engines of the i10 and i20 are simple and cheap to maintain. The turbo T-GDi petrols and the DCT automatic gearboxes are fine too, but want their servicing on schedule.

Question 2

Is a used Hyundai on LPG worth buying in Italy?

Accepted Answer

Yes for high-mileage drivers, since LPG costs less than petrol, and a factory-fitted system is better than one added later. Check the tank's date: an LPG tank must be replaced ten years after it was made.

Question 3

What should you check on a used Hyundai Kona Electric?

Accepted Answer

Early Kona Electrics, built up to 2020, were recalled over their battery cells, so ask for proof that the recall work was done. Also ask for a battery health report and check the charging cable and onboard charger work.

Question 4

How much does a new Hyundai cost in Italy?

Accepted Answer

New Hyundais range from the i20 and Bayon on petrol or LPG to the Tucson and Santa Fe hybrids and the electric Inster and IONIQ models. Each version is listed at Hyundai's official list price, beside the used cars.
