Question 1

Which petrol engine is best on a used Hyundai?

Accepted Answer

For town driving the naturally aspirated 1.0 and 1.2 of the i10 and i20 are the simplest and cheapest to keep. The 1.0 T-GDi turbo has more pull for the i20 and Kona, and the 1.6 T-GDi suits the heavier Tucson.

Question 2

Is the DCT automatic on a used petrol Hyundai reliable?

Accepted Answer

It generally is when serviced, but test it in slow traffic: it should pull away smoothly and shift without jerks or judder. Ask whether any software updates or clutch work have been done.

Question 3

Does the Hyundai i30 N pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

The i30 N Performance, at over 185 kW, pays the superbollo on top of the bollo until it is twenty years old. The 250 hp version, at 184 kW, stays just below the threshold.

Question 4

How much does a new petrol Hyundai cost in Italy?

Accepted Answer

New petrol Hyundais include the i20, Bayon, i30, Kona and Tucson with the 1.0 or 1.6 T-GDi, plus LPG versions of the i20, Bayon and Kona. Each version is listed at Hyundai's official price, beside the used cars.
