Question 1

Which is the best engine for a used Jaguar E-Pace?

Accepted Answer

The D180, or the mild-hybrid D200 from 2021, suits most drivers, with all-wheel drive and plenty of torque for the motorway. The P250 petrol is smoother but thirstier, and the front-drive D150 is the cheapest to buy.

Question 2

What changed on the Jaguar E-Pace in 2021?

Accepted Answer

The 2021 update brought a new dashboard with Pivi Pro infotainment, mild-hybrid diesel and petrol engines and the P300e plug-in hybrid. The exterior changes are small, so check the year and equipment in the advert.

Question 3

How does the Jaguar E-Pace P300e plug-in hybrid work?

Accepted Answer

It pairs a 1.5 three-cylinder petrol engine driving the front wheels with an electric motor on the rear axle, for 309 hp and four-wheel drive. It suits drivers who can charge regularly, at home or at work.

Question 4

What should I check on a used Jaguar E-Pace?

Accepted Answer

Test the nine-speed automatic in town traffic for hesitant shifts, and check that the software updates were done at a dealer. On diesels used mostly in town, ask about the particulate filter.
