Question 1

Which used Jaguar engines are most common in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The 2.0 Ingenium four-cylinder diesel, from about 150 to 240 hp, powers most used XE, XF, E-Pace and F-Pace models. Petrol Jaguars are rarer: mostly the 2.0 Ingenium, or the V6 and V8 of the F-Type and the sportier versions.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Jaguar Ingenium diesel?

Accepted Answer

Ask for proof that the oil was changed on time, since some early 2.0 Ingenium diesels suffered timing chain wear. A rattle on a cold start calls for a garage check, and cars used mostly in town can clog the particulate filter.

Question 3

Do used Jaguars pay the superbollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

Those above 185 kW do, such as the 300 hp 3.0 V6 diesel and the V6 and V8 petrol versions of the F-Type, F-Pace and XF. The surcharge falls after five, ten and fifteen years from construction and ends after twenty.

Question 4

Is a used Jaguar I-Pace a good buy?

Accepted Answer

The I-Pace is an all-electric SUV from 2018 with a 90 kWh battery and two motors driving all four wheels. Ask for a battery health report; it pays no bollo for its first five years, and none at all in Lombardy and Piedmont.
