Question 1

Which Kia Sportage generation is best to buy used?

Accepted Answer

It depends on budget: the fourth generation (2016–2022) offers the 1.6 T-GDi petrol and, after its 2018 update, the 1.6 CRDi and mild-hybrid diesels. The fifth, from 2021, adds full and plug-in hybrids and a more modern interior.

Question 2

Does the Kia warranty pass to the next owner of a used Sportage?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Kia's seven-year or 150,000 km warranty runs from first registration and stays with the car when it is sold. Ask for the service record, since the warranty depends on servicing to Kia's schedule.

Question 3

How much bollo does a used Kia Sportage pay?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the owner's region and the car's kW. Petrol and diesel versions pay by Euro class, while in most regions a hybrid or LPG Sportage pays one flat rate per kW, and a few regions exempt hybrids in their first years.

Question 4

Is it worth buying a new Kia Sportage instead of a used one?

Accepted Answer

The new Sportage comes in Italy with a 136 hp mild-hybrid diesel, a 150 hp turbo petrol, a 143 hp LPG version and a 239 hp full hybrid on LPG, in Business, Style and GT-Line trims. A used one costs less and often keeps part of the seven-year warranty.
