Question 1

Is the Kia 1.6 CRDi diesel reliable?

Accepted Answer

It has a sound reputation when serviced on time. Its weak points are those of any modern diesel, the particulate filter and EGR valve, which clog on short trips, so look for a car driven regularly out of town, with records of oil changes.

Question 2

Kia Sportage diesel: 1.6 or 2.0 CRDi?

Accepted Answer

The 1.6 CRDi, the Sportage's main diesel from the 2018 facelift, suits mixed driving and often comes as a mild hybrid. The 2.0 CRDi, in older and top versions, is usually paired with all-wheel drive and an automatic, and pulls harder with a load or a trailer.

Question 3

Can a used diesel Kia enter Milan's Area B?

Accepted Answer

It depends on its Euro class: Area B bars older diesels on a calendar that keeps tightening, and other cities have their own limits. Check the Euro class in field V.9 of the Documento Unico against the rules where you drive.

Question 4

Which new Kias have a diesel engine?

Accepted Answer

Two models: the Sportage with the 136 hp 1.6 CRDi mild hybrid, manual or dual-clutch, and the Sorento with the 193 hp 2.2 CRDi and an eight-speed dual clutch, front or all-wheel drive. Each version can be compared at Kia's list price beside the used cars.
