Question 1

Is a used Range Rover P400e a good buy?

Accepted Answer

It pairs a 2.0 four-cylinder petrol with an electric motor and a small battery, giving a short electric range suited to town trips. Check that the charging socket and on-board charger work and that the battery still charges fully.

Question 2

What is the difference between a mild hybrid and a plug-in hybrid Land Rover?

Accepted Answer

A mild hybrid uses a 48-volt system to help the engine and cannot drive on electricity alone. A plug-in hybrid charges from the mains and covers tens of kilometres on electricity, useful for short commutes.

Question 3

How much bollo does a hybrid Land Rover pay in Italy?

Accepted Answer

Most regions charge a hybrid one flat rate per kW whatever its Euro class, so an older hybrid pays no more per kW than a new one. A few regions also exempt hybrids for some years after registration.

Question 4

Which new Land Rover plug-in hybrids are on sale?

Accepted Answer

The Evoque and Discovery Sport with a 269 hp 1.5 petrol, the Velar with 404 hp, the Defender 110 with 300 hp, and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport with the 3.0 six-cylinder P460e and P550e. All are automatic, at Land Rover's list price.
