Question 1

Which used Mazda CX-5 generation should I buy?

Accepted Answer

The second generation, from 2017, has a quieter and more upmarket cabin than the first, launched in 2012, with the same family of engines. Both come with Skyactiv-G petrol or 2.2 Skyactiv-D diesel, the diesel suiting long distances.

Question 2

Is Mazda's all-wheel drive good on snowy roads?

Accepted Answer

The i-Activ AWD of the CX-3, CX-30 and CX-5 sends power to the rear wheels when the front ones need help, which is useful on snow and wet mountain roads. It is not designed for off-road driving.

Question 3

Is a used Mazda MX-30 a good electric SUV?

Accepted Answer

It suits town use: the brand's first electric car, from 2020, has a 35.5 kWh battery and a short range. A later e-Skyactiv R-EV version adds a small rotary engine as a generator, and the rear-hinged back doors only open with the front ones.

Question 4

Which new Mazda SUVs are on sale in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The CX-30 with e-Skyactiv G or X petrol engines, manual or automatic, the CX-5 with the 2.5 petrol and an automatic, the CX-60 and CX-80 with a 327 hp plug-in hybrid or the 3.3 diesel, and the electric CX-6e with 258 hp.
