Question 1

What does de mean on a Mercedes hybrid?

Accepted Answer

It marks a diesel plug-in hybrid, such as the E 300 de or GLC 300 de, which pairs the 2.0 diesel with an electric motor and a battery charged from the mains. It suits drivers who mix long motorway trips with short electric ones.

Question 2

Does a used hybrid Mercedes pay less bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

In most regions a hybrid pays one flat rate per kW whatever its Euro class, with no higher rate above 100 kW, and some regions add exemptions, such as Veneto's three tax years. The rule of the region where you live is the one that applies.

Question 3

What should I check on a used plug-in hybrid Mercedes?

Accepted Answer

Check the electric range against the original figure, that the charging cable comes with the car, and that the high-voltage battery shows no warnings. Early C 350 e and E 350 e versions have small batteries and short electric range.

Question 4
