Question 1

Which used Mini is the most reliable?

Accepted Answer

The third generation, from 2014, with BMW's own three- and four-cylinder engines, is generally the sounder buy. The 1.6 petrol of the 2006 to 2014 cars, developed with PSA, is known for timing chain wear and oil consumption, so check its history.

Question 2

What is the difference between a Mini Cooper and a Cooper S?

Accepted Answer

The Cooper S has a more powerful turbo petrol engine, a 2.0 on cars from 2014, plus sportier suspension and styling; the John Cooper Works sits above it. The One is the entry version below the Cooper.

Question 3

Is a used Mini Countryman a good family car?

Accepted Answer

The Countryman is the roomiest Mini, with five doors and a usable boot, and ALL4 versions have four-wheel drive. The second generation, from 2017, also came as a plug-in hybrid, and the third, from 2024, as an electric car.

Question 4

Which new Mini models are on sale in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The new range covers the Cooper 3 and 5-door, Cabrio, Countryman and electric Aceman, with petrol, diesel or electric power and always an automatic gearbox. John Cooper Works versions top each line.
