Question 1

Which versions does the new Alfa Romeo Giulia come in?

Accepted Answer

The 2.2 diesel comes in Sprint, Veloce and Luna Rossa trims, at 160 hp with rear-wheel drive or 210 hp with Q4 four-wheel drive. Above them sits the 520 hp Quadrifoglio, with rear-wheel drive.

Question 2

Does a new Alfa Romeo Giulia pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Only the Quadrifoglio: its 520 hp is well over 185 kW, so it pays €20 a year for each extra kW, in full for the first five years. The 2.2 diesels stay below the threshold.

Question 3

Is a new Alfa Romeo Giulia better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new Giulia has the manufacturer's warranty and the latest updates, while a used one costs less, as a large saloon loses most value early. The basic car is the same, on sale since 2016.

Question 4

How much does it cost to register a new Alfa Romeo Giulia?

Accepted Answer

On top of the price you pay IPT, set by the car's kW and your province, plus about €127 of fees, stamp duty and plates. The dealer usually handles the paperwork.
