Question 1

Which versions does the new Alfa Romeo Tonale come in?

Accepted Answer

Three powertrains, a 130 hp diesel, a 175 hp hybrid and a 270 hp plug-in hybrid with Q4, all automatic. The trims step up from the entry version through Sprint and Ti to Veloce and Luna Rossa.

Question 2

How far does the Alfa Romeo Tonale plug-in hybrid go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

About 60 km on the official cycle, depending on trim. It also has electric all-wheel drive, with a motor on the rear axle.

Question 3

Does a new Alfa Romeo Tonale hybrid pay the bollo?

Accepted Answer

In most regions a hybrid pays a flat rate per kW whatever its Euro class, and a few, such as Puglia, exempt new hybrids for some years. The rule follows the owner's region, so check it before buying.

Question 4

Is a new Alfa Romeo Tonale better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new Tonale has the factory warranty and the updated engines. A used one, on sale since 2022, costs less and has already absorbed the first years' depreciation.
