Accepted Answer

Petrol versions are the 116 of 122 hp, the 120 of 170 hp, the 123 xDrive of 218 hp and the M135 xDrive of 300 hp; the diesels are the 118d of 150 hp and the 120d of 163 hp. Every one has an automatic gearbox.

Question 2

Does the new BMW M135 xDrive pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Yes, at 300 hp, about 221 kW, it is over the 185 kW threshold and pays €20 a year for each kW above it, on top of the bollo. The 123 xDrive, at 218 hp, stays below.

Question 3

Is a new BMW 1 Series better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new 1 Series has BMW's factory warranty and the latest equipment, but loses the most value in its first years. A used one from 2019 on is also front-wheel drive, while earlier ones are rear-wheel drive.

Question 4

Is there a new BMW 1 Series with a manual gearbox?

Accepted Answer

No, every new 1 Series sold in Italy is automatic. A manual is found only on used cars of earlier generations.
