Question 1

Which versions does the new BMW X3 come in?

Accepted Answer

The 20 xDrive petrol, the 20d xDrive and 40d xDrive diesels, the 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid and the M50 xDrive at the top. All have four-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox.

Question 2

How far does the new BMW X3 30e go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

Its 20 kWh battery gives an official electric range of up to 89 km. Charged every day, it covers most commutes without starting the petrol engine.

Question 3

Does the new BMW X3 pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

The 40d and M50 exceed 185 kW, so they pay the superbollo, a yearly state surcharge on each kW above that threshold. The 20 xDrive and 20d stay below it.

Question 4

Should I buy a new or a used BMW X3?

Accepted Answer

A new X3 has the manufacturer's warranty and the latest generation's cabin and driver assistance. A used third-generation X3, built from 2017 to 2024, shares much of its engineering and costs less.
