Question 1

How powerful are the new petrol DR Automobiles engines?

Accepted Answer

The 1.4 TGDI of the DR 5 has 158 hp, or 154 hp on the LPG version, and the 1.6 TGDI of the DR 6 and DR 8 has 146 hp. The 1.5 TGDI of the DR 6 Stilnovo has 180 hp, or 178 hp with LPG.

Question 2

Do new petrol DRs have a manual or automatic gearbox?

Accepted Answer

The DR 3 comes with a manual or a CVT automatic, and the DR 5's 1.5 with a five-speed manual. The TGDI turbo engines of the DR 5 and DR 6 have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and the DR 8 is automatic too.

Question 3

Should I choose a petrol or a petrol-LPG DR?

Accepted Answer

The LPG version suits high mileage, as LPG costs less than petrol, and in most regions it pays one flat bollo rate per kW whatever its Euro class. For low mileage the petrol-only version is simpler.

Question 4

Does a new petrol DR pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

No, the superbollo applies only above 185 kW, and the most powerful petrol DR, the 180 hp DR 6 Stilnovo, has about 132 kW. The bollo is charged on kW and Euro class at the rate of the owner's region.
