Question 1

Which electric cars does Fiat sell new in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The 500e, the 600e, the Grande Panda and the Qubo L. All are battery-electric with an automatic transmission, and each comes in several trims that add equipment.

Question 2

Do new electric Fiats pay the bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

By national law an electric car pays no bollo for five years from first registration, then a quarter of the rate. Lombardy and Piedmont exempt it for good, so the owner's region decides.

Question 3

Is a new Fiat 500e better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new 500e has the full factory warranty, battery included, and the latest equipment. A used one costs less, but check the battery's state of health and how much of its warranty is left.

Question 4

Is IPT lower on a new electric Fiat?

Accepted Answer

In some provinces, yes. IPT is set by the car's kW and the buyer's province, and some provinces cut it for electric cars: Naples drops its surcharge, and Cremona and Pavia halve the tax.
