Question 1

Which new Honda models are sold in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The Jazz, including the raised Jazz Crosstar, the HR-V, the Civic, the ZR-V, the CR-V and the Prelude coupé. Every one is a hybrid with an automatic transmission.

Question 2

How does Honda's e:HEV hybrid work?

Accepted Answer

In most driving the petrol engine acts as a generator and an electric motor drives the wheels; at steady higher speeds a clutch lets the engine drive them directly. It charges itself, so it never needs plugging in.

Question 3

What is the difference between the Honda CR-V e:HEV and e:PHEV?

Accepted Answer

The e:HEV is a self-charging hybrid, offered with front- or all-wheel drive. The e:PHEV is a front-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid with a larger battery that you charge from the mains, so it can cover short trips on electricity alone.

Question 4

Is it better to buy a new or a used Honda in Italy?

Accepted Answer

A new Honda carries the manufacturer's warranty and the current hybrid system. A recent used one costs less, loses less of its value from here on and may still have part of its factory warranty.

Question 5

How much does it cost to register a new Honda in Italy?

Accepted Answer

On top of the list price you pay IPT, set by the car's kW and your province, plus about €127 of fees, stamp duty and plates; the dealer usually handles it. The annual bollo then follows your region's rates, and several regions treat hybrids differently.
