Question 1

Is the new Kia Sportage diesel a hybrid?

Accepted Answer

It is a 48-volt mild hybrid: a starter-generator helps the 1.6 CRDi when pulling away and lets the engine switch off while coasting. It cannot drive on electricity alone and is never plugged in.

Question 2

Which new Kia diesel has all-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Only the Sorento 2.2 CRDi, offered with front-wheel or all-wheel drive and always with the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The Sportage diesel drives the front wheels.

Question 3

Does a new Kia Sorento diesel pay a higher bollo?

Accepted Answer

Partly: its 193 hp is about 142 kW, so the kW above 100 pay the bollo's higher rate, while it stays below the 185 kW superbollo threshold. The 136 hp Sportage, at 100 kW, stays at the base rate.

Question 4

Can a new Kia diesel enter Milan's Area B?

Accepted Answer

A new diesel meets the latest Euro 6 standard, but Milan's Area B and other low-emission zones restrict diesels on calendars that tighten over the years. Check the rules of the cities you drive in before choosing diesel.
