Question 1

Which models does Maserati sell new in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The Grecale, a mid-size SUV, the GranTurismo, a four-seat coupé, and the GranCabrio, its convertible. All three are also offered as a Folgore, Maserati's name for its electric versions.

Question 2

What is the Maserati Nettuno engine?

Accepted Answer

The Nettuno is Maserati's own 3.0 twin-turbo V6, with pre-chamber combustion derived from racing. It powers the GranTurismo, the GranCabrio and the most powerful petrol Grecale, the Trofeo.

Question 3

Does a new Maserati pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Every petrol version except the entry 250 hp Grecale, at about 184 kW, has more than 185 kW and pays the superbollo each year on top of the bollo. An electric Folgore is exempt from the bollo for its first five years, and the superbollo is not due while it is.

Question 4

Should I buy a new or a used Maserati?

Accepted Answer

A new Maserati brings the factory warranty and the Nettuno V6 or electric drive, but loses much of its value in its first years. A used Ghibli, Levante or Quattroporte costs far less, with an older Ferrari-built V6 or V8.
