Question 1

Which versions does the new Mercedes C-Class come in?

Accepted Answer

Petrol C 200, C 250 and C 300, diesel C 200d and C 250d, and the C 300 e and C 400 e plug-in hybrids, as a saloon or Station Wagon, many with 4MATIC. The electric C-Class with EQ technology comes as the C 300 4MATIC and C 400 4MATIC.

Question 2

How far does the new C-Class plug-in hybrid go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

The C 300 e and C 400 e have a 20 kWh battery and are rated for roughly 100 to 110 km of electric driving, depending on body and drive. That covers most daily commutes without starting the engine.

Question 3

Does a new electric Mercedes C-Class pay the bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

By national law an electric car is exempt for five years from first registration, then pays a quarter of the rate; some regions, such as Lombardy and Piedmont, exempt it for good. While exempt from the bollo it pays no superbollo either.

Question 4

Which new C-Class versions pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Those above 185 kW, such as the C 300 e and C 400 e plug-in hybrids, pay €20 a year for each kW above the threshold on top of the bollo. It falls after five years from construction.

Question 5

Is it better to buy a new or a used Mercedes C-Class?

Accepted Answer

A new C-Class has the factory warranty and the choice of trim and drive, but loses most value in its first years. A used car of the same generation, from 2021, has the same design and costs less.
