Question 1

Which versions does the new Mercedes GLB come in?

Accepted Answer

Petrol hybrids, the GLB 180 with 136 hp, the 200 with 163 hp and the 220 with 190 hp, the last two also with 4MATIC, and electrics: the GLB 200 with 224 hp, the 250+ with 272 hp and the 350 4MATIC with 354 hp.

Question 2

Should I choose a hybrid or an electric new Mercedes GLB?

Accepted Answer

The electric suits buyers who can charge at home: the 85 kWh versions are rated at over 600 km on the WLTP cycle and pay no bollo for at least five years. The hybrid needs no charging and refuels anywhere.

Question 3

How much does it cost to register a new Mercedes GLB in Italy?

Accepted Answer

On top of the price you pay IPT, set by the car's kW and your province, plus about €127 of fees, stamp duty and plates. Some provinces reduce IPT for electric cars, so check yours before choosing.

Question 4

Is a new Mercedes GLB better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new GLB has the factory warranty and the new hybrid and electric powertrains, but loses most value in its first years. A used first-generation GLB, from 2019, costs less and was sold with petrol or diesel engines.
