Question 1

Which versions does the new Mercedes GLC come in?

Accepted Answer

Petrol GLC 200 and 300, diesel 200 d, 220 d, 300 d and 450 d, plug-in hybrids 300 e, 400 e and the diesel 300 de, the AMG GLC 53 and the electric GLC with up to 94 kWh. Most also come as a Coupé, and almost all have 4MATIC.

Question 2

Is the new Mercedes GLC plug-in hybrid worth it?

Accepted Answer

The 300 e, 400 e and diesel 300 de carry a 25 kWh battery, rated for over 120 km on electricity on the WLTP cycle, so a daily commute can run without fuel. They suit buyers who charge at home or at work.

Question 3

Does a new Mercedes GLC pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

The versions above 185 kW do, such as the 300, the 300 d, the 450 d and the AMG GLC 53. The electric GLC is exempt from the bollo for at least five years, and so from the superbollo.

Question 4

Should I buy a new or a used Mercedes GLC?

Accepted Answer

A new GLC has the factory warranty and the current hybrid and electric systems, but loses the most value in its first years. A used one from the 2015 generation costs much less and was sold mainly with diesel and petrol engines.
