Question 1

Which electric cars does Mercedes sell in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The CLA saloon and Shooting Brake, the GLA, GLB and GLC SUVs, an electric C-Class, the EQE and EQS as saloons and SUVs, the G 580 and an electric AMG GT four-door. Many are offered with rear-wheel drive or with 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Question 2

What battery sizes do new electric Mercedes have?

Accepted Answer

They range from 58 kWh on the entry CLA, GLA and GLB to 122 kWh on the EQS saloon. Within one model, the larger battery usually comes with the more powerful versions.

Question 3

Do electric Mercedes pay the bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

Not for the first five years under the national rules, then a quarter of the rate, while Lombardy and Piedmont exempt electric cars for good. The superbollo above 185 kW is not due while the car is exempt from the bollo, but applies once the exemption ends.

Question 4

Is a new electric Mercedes better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new one comes with the manufacturer's warranty, battery cover included, and the latest charging hardware and software. A used EQ model has already taken the first years' depreciation, so it costs less at a similar specification.
