Question 1

Which new Opel models are on sale in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The Corsa and the Astra, also as a Sports Tourer estate, the Frontera, Mokka and Grandland SUVs, and the Combo, Vivaro and Zafira Life people carriers. Every one of them is also offered as an electric.

Question 2

What is the new Opel Hybrid?

Accepted Answer

It is the 1.2 three-cylinder turbo petrol with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic, offered with 110 or 145 hp. It cannot be plugged in; the Astra and Grandland are also sold as plug-in hybrids.

Question 3

Which trims do new Opels come in?

Accepted Answer

Most models step up from Edition to GS and Ultimate, with a Start version at the bottom of some ranges. The electric Corsa and Mokka also come as the 280 hp GSE, and the Zafira Life in Business Edition and Business Elegance.

Question 4

Do new electric Opels pay the bollo in Italy?

Accepted Answer

By national rule an electric car pays no bollo for five years from first registration, then a quarter of the rate. Some regions, such as Lombardy and Piedmont, exempt it for good.

Question 5

Is it better to buy a new or a used Opel?

Accepted Answer

A new Opel carries the manufacturer's warranty and the latest engines, but loses most of its value in the first years. A recent used one costs less and often shares the same mechanicals.
