Question 1

Which versions does the new Volkswagen Golf come in?

Accepted Answer

The trims step up from Life and Edition Plus to Style, R-Line and R-Line Plus, with the GTE as the sporty plug-in hybrid. Engines are the 1.5 TSI at 115 or 150 hp, the hybrid and eTSI petrol versions, the 2.0 TDI at 115 or 150 hp, and the plug-in hybrids at 204 and 272 hp.

Question 2

How far does the new Golf eHybrid go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

The 204 hp eHybrid is rated at around 140 km of electric range, and the 272 hp GTE at around 130 km. Both use a DSG gearbox, and charging at home keeps most daily trips electric.

Question 3

Is a new Volkswagen Golf better than a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new Golf has Volkswagen's warranty and the infotainment revised in the 2024 update, while a used eighth-generation Golf from 2020 shares the same platform and most engines for less. A new car loses more value in its first years.

Question 4

How much bollo and IPT does a new Golf pay in Italy?

Accepted Answer

Both are charged on the car's kW: IPT once at registration, at your province's rate, and the bollo every year at your region's rate on kW and Euro class. In most regions a hybrid pays one flat rate per kW.
