Question 1

Which versions does the new Volkswagen Tiguan come in?

Accepted Answer

The 1.5 eTSI petrol mild hybrid at 130 or 150 hp, the 1.5 TSI eHybrid plug-in at 204 or 272 hp, and the 2.0 TDI diesel at 150 hp or 193 hp with 4Motion, all with DSG. Trims run from Life through Edition Plus and Edition 20 to R-Line and R-Line Plus.

Question 2

How far can the new Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

Its battery of about 20 kWh gives an official electric range of around 120 km, depending on version. That covers most daily commutes without starting the petrol engine, if you can charge at home or at work.

Question 3

Does the new Volkswagen Tiguan diesel have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

The 2.0 TDI of 193 hp comes with 4Motion all-wheel drive, while the 150 hp TDI drives the front wheels only. The petrol and plug-in versions are front-wheel drive.

Question 4

Does the Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid pay the bollo?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the owner's region: in most, a hybrid pays one flat rate per kW, some exempt new hybrids for a few years and others give no relief. Check your region's current rule before buying.

Question 5

Is it better to buy a new or a used Volkswagen Tiguan?

Accepted Answer

A new Tiguan has the factory warranty and a plug-in with a long electric range, but loses most value in its first years. A used second-generation Tiguan, from 2016 to 2024, costs less and was also sold with a manual gearbox.
