Question 1

Which versions of the new Volvo XC60 are on sale in Italy?

Accepted Answer

The XC60 comes as the 250 cv B5, a petrol mild hybrid, and as the T6 and T8 Long Range plug-in hybrids with 357 and 461 cv. The B5 and T6 are offered in Core, Plus and Ultra, the T8 in Plus and Ultra, and Plus and Ultra also come as a Black Edition.

Question 2

Does the new Volvo XC60 B5 pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

No: 250 cv is about 184 kW, just under the 185 kW threshold, so the B5 pays only the bollo. For the plug-in hybrids, check the kW recorded on the Documento Unico before counting on the same.

Question 3

Do the new Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrids pay less bollo?

Accepted Answer

In most regions a hybrid pays one flat rate per kW, whatever its Euro class, and some regions exempt new ones for a time: Sicily, for example, exempts plug-in hybrids newly registered from 2026 to 2028 for five years. The rule follows the owner's region.

Question 4

Is it better to buy a new or a used Volvo XC60?

Accepted Answer

A new XC60 brings the manufacturer's warranty and the latest plug-in battery, but loses the most value in its first years. A used one costs less and was also sold with D4 and D5 diesels and, from 2020, B4 mild hybrids.
