Question 1

Is the Nissan Qashqai 1.3 DIG-T a good engine?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the 1.3 DIG-T, developed with Mercedes-Benz, is smoother and stronger than the 1.2 it replaced. As a direct-injection turbo it wants its oil changed on time, so ask for the service record.

Question 2

What problems does the Nissan Qashqai 1.2 DIG-T have?

Accepted Answer

Some 1.2 DIG-T engines burn oil or stretch their timing chain, so check the oil level and listen for a rattle on a cold start. Ask whether the engine has had work under warranty.

Question 3

Does a petrol Nissan Qashqai pay less bollo than a diesel?

Accepted Answer

No, the bollo follows kW and Euro class, not fuel, so a petrol and a diesel of the same power and class pay the same at their region's rate. A mild hybrid recorded as a hybrid may pay a flat rate per kW.

Question 4

How much does a new Nissan Qashqai petrol cost?

Accepted Answer

The new petrol Qashqai is the 158 hp 1.3 mild hybrid, with a manual or Xtronic gearbox and front- or four-wheel drive, from Acenta to Tekna Plus, each at Nissan's list price beside the used cars.
