Question 1

What is the difference between the two generations of Peugeot 508?

Accepted Answer

The first 508, sold from 2010 to 2018, is a conventional saloon with a boot lid, alongside an SW estate. The second, from 2018, is a lower fastback with a tailgate, frameless doors and the i-Cockpit, and added plug-in hybrid versions.

Question 2

Is the Peugeot 508 plug-in hybrid a good used buy?

Accepted Answer

It suits drivers who can charge at home and cover short daily trips on electricity: the 508 Hybrid pairs a 1.6 PureTech with an electric motor and the e-EAT8 automatic. Ask for the charging cable and a battery health check.

Question 3

Is the Peugeot 408 a saloon or an SUV?

Accepted Answer

Neither exactly: the 408 is a fastback with a saloon's profile, a slightly raised ride height and a tailgate instead of a boot lid. It shares its platform with the 308.

Question 4

What versions does the new Peugeot 408 come in?

Accepted Answer

The new 408 is sold as a 145 cv Hybrid with the e-DCS6 dual-clutch, a 240 cv plug-in hybrid with the e-DCS7 and the 210 cv electric E-408, all automatic. Trims step up from Allure to GT and GT Exclusive, each at Peugeot's list price.
