Question 1

Which small Peugeot is best for driving in an Italian city?

Accepted Answer

The 108 is the smallest, a four-seater with a three-cylinder petrol engine that parks easily in old town centres. The 208 is roomier and calmer on the motorway, and the e-208 pays no bollo for its first five years under national rules.

Question 2

What should you check on a used Peugeot 208 with the 1.2 PureTech?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 PureTech's timing belt runs in engine oil and can deteriorate early, so ask when it was last checked or replaced. Rising oil consumption and low oil pressure warnings are the signs to watch for.

Question 3

Is a used Peugeot e-208 a good small car to buy in Italy?

Accepted Answer

It suits mostly urban and regional driving with charging at home or work. Early cars have 136 cv, those from 2023 have 156 cv and a slightly larger battery; ask for a battery health report before buying.

Question 4

What versions does the new Peugeot 208 come in?

Accepted Answer

The new 208 comes as a Turbo 100 petrol with a manual gearbox, a Hybrid of 110 or 145 cv with the e-DCS6 dual-clutch automatic, and the electric E-208 of 136 or 156 cv. At the top sits the E-208 GTi of 281 cv.
