Question 1

Is the Renault Captur 1.5 dCi a good engine?

Accepted Answer

The 1.5 dCi is frugal and used across Renault, Dacia and Nissan, so parts are easy to find. On high-mileage cars ask about the injectors and the timing belt, and make sure the particulate filter is still fitted.

Question 2

Can a diesel Renault Captur enter Milan's Area B?

Accepted Answer

It depends on its Euro class and the year, as Area B bans diesels in stages, starting with the oldest. Check the Euro class on the Documento Unico against the municipality's current calendar before you buy.

Question 3

What is AdBlue on the Renault Captur Blue dCi?

Accepted Answer

The second-generation Blue dCi injects AdBlue into the exhaust to cut nitrogen oxides, from a separate tank with its own filler. It needs topping up between services, and the car warns well before it runs out.

Question 4

Is a used diesel Renault Captur worth it in Italy?

Accepted Answer

For long motorway or rural distances, yes: the dCi uses little fuel at a steady pace. For mostly short urban trips a petrol or hybrid suits better, as the particulate filter needs regular longer runs to clean itself.
