Question 1

Is it worth buying a used car on the mainland and shipping it to Sassari?

Accepted Answer

Only when the price gap pays for the crossing, as the car has to come over by ferry. A seller across the sea is also harder to reach if a fault appears, while IPT stays the same because it follows the buyer's province.

Question 2

How much is the bollo on a used car in Sardinia?

Accepted Answer

Sardinia applies the national base rates on kW and Euro class, and the Agenzia delle Entrate runs the tax for the region. A Euro 6 car pays €2.58 per kW up to 100 kW and €3.87 per kW above.

Question 3

Do hybrid and electric cars pay the bollo in Sardinia?

Accepted Answer

Hybrids get no regional exemption or discount in Sardinia. An electric car follows the national rule: exempt for five years from first registration, then a quarter of the rate.

Question 4

Where can a car have its revisione in the province of Sassari?

Accepted Answer

At the Motorizzazione civile or at a garage authorised by the province. The first revisione falls four years after first registration, then every two years, and the last one is recorded on the Documento Unico.
