Is the SEAT 2.0 TDI reliable?

Yes, it lasts well when serviced, but on cars driven mostly in town the particulate filter and EGR valve tend to clog. On Euro 6 versions with SCR, also ask about the condition of the AdBlue system.

Should I avoid a SEAT TDI affected by dieselgate?

Euro 5 EA189 engines in SEATs built up to 2015 received a software update under a recall, plus a small intake part on the 1.6 TDI. Check with a dealer that the work was done.

Which used SEAT diesel suits a family?

The Leon ST estate and the Ateca carry a family well with the 2.0 TDI, and the Tarraco can add a third row of seats. 4Drive versions of the Ateca and Tarraco have four-wheel drive for mountain roads.

Can a diesel SEAT drive into Milan's Area B?

Area B excludes the older diesel Euro classes, on a calendar that extends to newer ones over the years. Check the Euro class on the Documento Unico and the City of Milan's current rules before buying.
