Question 1

Skoda Kamiq 1.0 or 1.5 TSI: which is better?

Accepted Answer

The 1.0 TSI is enough for town and mixed use and pays less bollo, as it has fewer kW. The 1.5 TSI, with 150 cv, is more relaxed at motorway speeds and with a loaded car.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Skoda Kamiq with DSG?

Accepted Answer

The petrol Kamiq uses a seven-speed dry-clutch DSG, which should pull away smoothly. Judder or hesitation from a standstill points to worn clutches or a needed software update, so ask whether the gearbox has been looked at.

Question 3

Does a petrol Skoda Kamiq pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

No: the most powerful Kamiq has 150 cv, about 110 kW, well under the 185 kW threshold. It pays only the regional bollo, charged on kW and Euro class.

Question 4

Is the new Skoda Kamiq only sold with petrol engines?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every new Kamiq on sale in Italy has a petrol TSI: the 1.0 with 95 or 116 cv or the 1.5 with 150 cv, with a manual or DSG gearbox depending on the version.
