Question 1

Which used manual Toyota is the most reliable?

Accepted Answer

The petrol Aygo and Yaris are simple and cheap to keep. The Aygo shares its 1.0 three-cylinder and much else with the Citroën C1 and Peugeot 107 and 108, so parts are easy to find.

Question 2

Does the Toyota GR Yaris pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the GR Yaris's 1.6 turbo three-cylinder is above 185 kW, so it pays the superbollo every year on top of the bollo. The surcharge falls after five, ten and fifteen years from construction and ends at twenty.

Question 3

Is a used manual Toyota diesel still worth buying?

Accepted Answer

Mainly for high-mileage drivers outside the cities: the D-4D engines of the Auris, Avensis, Verso and RAV4 belong to older Euro classes, so check your city's traffic restrictions. On cars used in town, also ask about the particulate filter.

Question 4

How much does a new manual Toyota cost?

Accepted Answer

Few new Toyotas still have a manual gearbox: the petrol Yaris and the diesel Proace and Proace City vans, each version at Toyota's list price beside the used cars. The rest of the range is automatic.
