Question 1

Which used Volkswagen Golf petrol engine is the most reliable?

Accepted Answer

The 1.0 and 1.5 TSI of the EA211 family, with a timing belt, have few known faults. On sixth-generation cars with the 1.2 or 1.4 TSI, listen for a chain rattle at cold start; some early 1.5 TSIs hesitated at low revs, which software updates addressed.

Question 2

Is a petrol Golf better than a diesel for Italian cities?

Accepted Answer

For mostly short urban trips, yes: there is no diesel particulate filter that needs long runs to regenerate, and petrol cars face fewer limits in zones such as Milan's Area B. A TDI pays off only on long motorway runs.

Question 3

Does a used Volkswagen Golf GTI pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Only above 185 kW. A 245 hp GTI has about 180 kW and pays none, while the 265 hp GTI from 2024, the Clubsport and the Golf R are above the threshold and pay it every year.

Question 4

Which petrol engines does the new Volkswagen Golf have?

Accepted Answer

The new petrol Golf comes with the 1.5 TSI of 115 or 150 hp and a manual gearbox, or the 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid of 115 or 150 hp with DSG, as a hatchback or Variant, in trims from Life to R-Line Plus.
