Question 1

Is the DSG gearbox on the Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Accepted Answer

Generally yes, when its oil and filter were changed on schedule, which matters most on the wet-clutch units. On a test drive, watch for jerks when pulling away and hesitation in slow traffic, signs of worn clutches or mechatronics.

Question 2

Is a used Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid worth buying?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for anyone who can charge at home and drives mostly short distances, which it covers on electricity. Ask how the battery was charged and have its health checked by a Volkswagen dealer.

Question 3

Does an automatic Volkswagen Tiguan pay the superbollo?

Accepted Answer

Only versions above 185 kW, about 252 hp, such as the second-generation Tiguan R and the third generation's 272 hp eHybrid. Every Tiguan diesel stays below the threshold.

Question 4

How much does a new automatic Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Accepted Answer

Every new Tiguan has a DSG gearbox: the 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid with 130 or 150 hp, the 1.5 TSI eHybrid plug-in with 204 or 272 hp, and the 2.0 TDI with 150 hp, or 193 hp with 4Motion. Each trim can be compared at Volkswagen's list price beside the used cars.
