Which Volvo diesel engine is the best buy used?

The four-cylinder 2.0 D4 balances power and running costs well in the XC60, V60 and V90. The twin-turbo D5 suits the heavy XC90, while the older five-cylinder is tough but thirstier.

What problems do Volvo diesels have?

Like other modern diesels, they clog the particulate filter and EGR valve when used mostly in town. On the five-cylinder engines, also check that the timing belt was changed at the set interval.

Can a used Volvo diesel enter Milan's Area B?

It depends on the Euro class on the Documento Unico: Area B shuts out older diesels in stages, moving to newer Euro classes over the years. A Euro 6 diesel has the most room, but check the Comune di Milano's current calendar.

Does a Volvo diesel pay the superbollo?

No, Volvo's diesels all stay below 185 kW, including the 235 hp D5. The bollo follows the car's kW and Euro class at the rate of the owner's region.
